HACK-A-THON
IMS Ghaziabad, University Courses Campus took the initiative of falling outside the realm of the normal curriculum of education and organized a 2 days inter-institutional fest ‘HACK-A-THON 2017’ on 31st October and 1st November 2017. The fest was hosted by School of Information Technology created a platform for students to showcase as well as enhance their skills in the technology sector. The event was successfully executed under the sponsorship of Impeccable IT Academy. The fest was enriched with various events such as Blind Coding, Breach the Firewall, Module Development, Web-a-Thon. All the activities were beautifully volunteered by the student as well as faculty members of host institute.
The student coordinators, volunteers, and faculty coordinators organized the event with full enthusiasm and determination making the event a great success. The grand event welcomed the talent from various colleges as well as various schools of Delhi NCR with full enthusiasm.
The journey started with the blessings of goddess Saraswati. The fest was inaugurated by a panel of creative and enthusiastic experts. The honorable chief guest for the day Mr. Sanjay Kumar, Mr. Anurag Kumar and Mr. Rishi Rajpal including our respected director and Dean showered the petals to the goddess Saraswati and took blessings to begin a new journey. The director and dean of the instituteDr. Sapna Rakesh and Dr.Pooja Rastogi, respectively, welcomed the dignitaries by presenting saplings to them. The dignitaries also encouraged the participants with their experience and knowledge by briefing the audience with the motive of organizing the technical event HACK-A-THON 2017.
Following the inaugural ceremony, various events were conducted. The very first event to grab the attention of the crowd was Blind Coding. The event itself was successful in terms of the participants and their passion for coding.The day was followed by many other interesting events such as Module Development, Breach the Firewall and Wed-a-Thon. The competitive spirit of the participants was so motivating for the judges as well as the audience. Moreover, the enthusiasm of some participants impressed the jury as they showed their interest in learning new things.
The day one impacted the crowd so positively that the results were shown on the second and final day of the fest. HACK-A-THON 2017 continued with various other events which stimulated, enhanced and reciprocated corporation diplomacy and also refined skill sets of young students. The level of excitement was at another extend because the day was to appreciate the participants for their skills. Award and prices are just a token of appreciation and motivation to the participants as well as for non-participants also. It gives a sparkling effect on the performance of all the school and college students who initiated in making the two days journey a successful one.
The prize distribution ceremony was conducted in the presence of various respected dignitaries in the Auditorium. The performance of the young ones was motivated as per the events conducted.
The winners of the first event i.e. Bind coding were from different colleges. The first position was secured by Aman Agarwal from AKGEC, Ghaziabad followed by first and second runner-up as Bhuvnesh Kumar from ABES IT, Ghaziabad and Utkarsh Sharma from IMIT, Hapur respectively. The consolation prize was achieved by Priya from IMS Noida, Anupam Kumar Singh from AKGEC, Parul Bajaj from IMS Ghaziabad UC Campus and Harsh Tyagi from Delhi Public school.
The second event was Module Development in which Aman Garg and Akash Khurana from RDEC shared the first position followed by Shresth Jaiswal and Harshit Sharma from IMS Ghaziabad rewarded as second winners. The third position was secured by Monica Choudhary from IMS UC Ghaziabad.
The winner of third event Web-a-Thon was Kartik Jain and Aman Aggarwal from AKGEC. The second position in the event was secured by Ayush Singh and Mayur Pathak from AKGEC followed by Nakshatra Pradhan and Avinash Singh from AKGEC at the third position. Daksh Miglani and Aniruddha Gaikward from Indirapuram Public School were awarded consolation price.
The last event for the festival was Breach the Firewall where the first prize was awarded to Akarshan from Delhi Public School while the second prize was given to Fizan from IMS Ghaziabad.
The basic motto of Institute for organizing this IT fest is to put forward the platform for school as well the college students and to encourage them in the technical world and to encourage the love for innovation, coding, and technology. The extraordinary two days journey of HACK-A-THON was a success due to the efforts and support of respected Director, Dean, Department heads, Faculties and various volunteers involved in the events.
