Summary of the event- Day 1

The Faculty Development Program (FDP) on Outcome-Based Education (OBE) wss organized by IQAC department. The event focused on various critical aspects of OBE, including the identification of learning levels, curriculum design, assessment of Course Outcomes (COs), gap analysis, and quality in higher education. It provided a comprehensive understanding of how to effectively implement OBE to enhance educational outcomes. The resource person emphasized the importance of aligning curricula with desired outcomes, using artifacts as tangible evidence of learning, and fostering student cognitive and emotional development. The program provided participants with practical tools and strategies to enhance educational practices and ensure continuous improvement in achieving educational outcomes.

The FDP provided valuable insights into Outcome-Based Education and equipped participants with practical tools and strategies for enhancing educational practices. By focusing on curriculum design, assessment, gap analysis, and quality in higher education, the event aimed to foster a deeper understanding of how to achieve desired educational outcomes and improve overall student learning experiences.

Summary of the event- Day 2

The second day began with an in-depth exploration of cognitive knowledge, where the participants learned about various cognitive processes and their impact on learning. This was followed by a comprehensive discussion on designing effective course outcomes, emphasizing the importance of clearly defined and measurable objectives. The day concluded with practical hands-on sessions, allowing participants to apply their knowledge by calculating course outcomes, ensuring they gained practical experience and confidence in implementing these concepts in their educational practices.

The day was very fruitful, leaving participants equipped with valuable skills and insights to enhance their educational methodologies. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Indrani Bhattacharjee, Professor and Head IQAC expressed her gratitude to all the participants and organizers for their enthusiastic involvement and contributions.

Learning Outcome:

Participants will be able to design curriculum that effectively align with desired educational outcomes.

Attendees will acquire methods to accurately assess and evaluate course outcomes (COs).

Participants will be able to identify and address gaps between current educational practices and desired outcomes.

Attendees will learn strategies to maintain and enhance the quality of higher education. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of cognitive processes and their impact on learning, enabling them to design more effective instructional strategies.

Attendees will acquire practical skills in designing clear and measurable course outcomes and calculating these outcomes to ensure alignment with educational objectives.
