"Spreading 'light' in world of darkness"- Donate eyes and gift sight.

On 30th August 2018, students from School of Biosciences, IMS University Courses Campus got an opportunity to participate in an eye donation campaign. The eye donation campaign named 'Give the Gift of Sight' has been organized by the Love and Care foundation. The foundation is an NGO run by Mr. Sunjoo Dadroo, Founder & National Director who was also present on the occasion. Ms. Reema Malhotra, a representative from the Love and Care foundation spoke about the community services such as education and other programs offered by the foundation and made the students aware of the privilege of having eyes to be able to see the colorful world around us.
Mr. Rajeev Maikhuri, a transplant specialist from AIIMS, spoke about the ease of the transplantation process, associated social stigmas and the importance of organ donation for the betterment of the society. He encouraged everyone to make an eye donation pledge and also to spread the message for a good cause. He requested everyone to pledge their eyes to the visually impaired and to lighten up their lives with this precious gift.
The students were given brochures about this campaign along with registration forms to be filled up for eye donation. The representatives from Love and Care foundation were honored with mementoes on behalf of the IMS University Courses Campus Director, Dr. Sapna Rakesh to support this social cause. Dr. Abha Vashistha, Chairperson, School of Biosciences, Mr. Ashutosh Sharma, and Mr. Surya Saxena from the BCA department bestowed the mementos to the guests.
