To build long term success, purposeful companies consider vital factors in candidates or prospective employees. To find the right fit for the right job they look for the unique behavioral and technical competencies in a candidate. To guide the students to build their unique selling propositions and enhance their chances of selection by getting an edge in this competitive scenario, Career Development Centre at IMS Ghaziabad, University Courses Campus organized an ‘Industry Talk’ in e-Skill Enhancement and Employability Development Sessions (eSEEDS) on 3 October 2020 for the registered third-year students. The topic of the session was ‘How to build your USP to get placed?’

Mr. Puneet Aneja, Business Development Manager, Mastercard was the speaker of the session. Mr. Aneja guided the students on understanding and presenting oneself on the basis of USPs as per industry demands and expectations. He suggested the students to follow AURA framework, that is, absorb to get knowledge, understanding concepts and methodologies, retaining information understood & absorbed and hence articulate and present oneself. While facing the personal interview he advised the students to present themselves as unique and competent candidate by emphasizing on their key strengths. He also stressed upon managing the digital footprints, using decent email id address. Mr. Puneet recommended the students to give a fair try to the questions whose answers are not known to them while maintaining the poise.

CDC team extended a note of gratitude to Dr. Sapna Rakesh, Director-IMS Ghaziabad, University Courses Campus for her constant motivation and guidance in taking such insightful initiatives. Ms. Priyanka Sadhna, Chairperson CDC congratulated Ms. Sapna Kumar and Ms. Raunak Bhardwaj for conducting an informative session. Students appreciated this virtual industry talk and also expressed gratitude for organizing such sessions which helps them stand out in the competitive world by getting the valuable tips from the industry experts.
