The Monday morning falling on October 8, 2018, at IMS Ghaziabad, University Courses Campus saw the dawn of the opening ceremony of IMS Model United Nations Conference 2018. The Theme for which was one of the burning issues of all times: 'Women Empowerment.

The Chief Guest was Shri Vijay Sampla, Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment and Guest of honor Mr. Arvind Menon, Nationa In charge of Department and Project, BJP and Mr. Ashok Shrivastav, Senior Journalist,DD News. The strong audience was composed of over 250 students from over 30 schools and colleges. Shri Vijay Sample accentuated on the need to improve the education system, by re-introducing focus on values and our culture.

A short film about a particular aspect of the life of Hon'ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi 'Chalo Jeete Hai' was shown in the auditorium. Proceedings for Day 1 went into briefings, debates, counters, and discussions. Launching into Day 2 of the conference, it was observed that the delegates were better researched and the conference went on with vivacity. The five distinct committees discussed matters existing on the women empowerment spectrum -

UNGA discussed "The role of rural women's land rights and land tenure security in achieving SDGs"

UNHRC discussed "Combating and Prevention of Female Genital Mutilation"

UNSC discussed "Review and reassessment of provisions for the protection of rights of women in Africa"

AIPPM discussed "Reviewing Uniform Civil Code with special emphasis on Triple Talaq"

Law Commission of India discussed "Marital rape laws and adultery law of the nation with special emphasis on the fundamental rights".
All the committees were enthralled with a lot of enthusiasm and the passion to find the solutions of the matters at hand.

The closing ceremony was blistered by the presence of the Chief Guest of the evening (Retd.) Lt. Colonel Ashok Kini and Guest of honor, Mr. Shantanu Gupta, political analyst, and author. The most nascent of the delegates from each committee were recognized in the valedictory session.Finally, IMSMUNC'18 culminated with better insights, edification, and gaiety.
