BJMC Department organized an industrial visit at Gyan Vani FM channel of IGNOU (Delhi) on 08/03/18 for the students of journalism and mass communication of 1st, 2nd and 3rd year with required exposure to the working environment and practical knowledge. The motive is to learn and supplement the class room teaching. This visit was concerned by the faculty member of journalism department to have an insight into the real work environment of media industry both in audio or video medium . There was group of 30 students reached at channel 12:15p.m sharp and the session started with clearing the mission of GyanVani and Gyan Darshan studio in the two different groups of students. It was not possible to complete the tour of channel without the guidance of Mrs Ashumi Pau and students are greatly indebted to the producer of channel programs Mrs Aarti Kariholu. They told about on AIR studio is a sound proof medium from where the live or scheduled radio baseband signal generated.
The signal either came from the microphone provided to the radio jockey or from the music library and also the backup studio is identical to the on air studio to provide redundancy for transmission in case on air studio fails due to technical reason . A buffer to store 8 second of the transmitting signal is used in case of any miscommunication or human prone errors during live program. Finally this visit made a great contribution in developing students practical knowledge base.
