Debate is one of the academic activities that gives students creative room to express what they feel. The length and breadth of knowledge that they gain through this is simply unparalleled. The Intra College Debate Competition for the IMS University Courses Students was organized by Bionics Club. The format of the debate was a bit different as the day witnessed the prelims wherein teams had to debate on the topics; "Legalised human organ sale", "Ban plastic bags in grocery stores" ,"Animal testing does more good than harm" or "Is GST Bill is a game spoiler or game changer".
The competition was judged by Dr. Namita Ashish Singh and Mr. Suman Kumar. It was very evident that the teams were well prepared and they used various skills like overstatement, definition, irony etc. to convince the audience. The participants, armed with statistics and data made their arguments more emphatic with their righteous facial expressions, body movement and gestures. All the teams exhibited great oratorical skills but finally the four teams were declared winners-
1st Position: IbaMahin and Anjali Singh (M.Sc. 1st year)
2nd Position: Maria Rashid and NalinKishor (BBA 3rd year)
3rd Position: Nikita Garg and Tanya Dwivedi (BBA 2nd year)
Consolation prize: Archita Singh and Rishita Singh (B.Sc. 2nd year).
