There is hardly a better way avoid discussion than by releasing an argument from the control of the present and by saying that only the future will reveal its merits. The discussion is your voice; an opinion is the echo of someone else ?s voice. IMS Ghaziabad University Courses Campus had organized a group discussion on ?Women in changing Worlds of work: Planet 50-50? in the MDP room. The students were supposed to discuss among themselves about the very burning topic how women are changing world of works in planet 50-50 by 2030. Women in changing Worlds of work: Planet 50-50? places great emphasis on equality and economic empowerment. When countries give women greater opportunities to participate in the economy the benefits extend far beyond individual girls and women but also to societies and economies as a whole. The students were given 2 minutes to think over the topic before beginning with the discussion. Students shared that recent study showed that raising labor participation of women at par with men can increase GDP in united states by 5 percent, in the UAE by 12%and in Egypt by 34%. All the students were discussing and shared their insights about the topic and try to mentioned more and more points they knew about the same. The group discussion lasted for about 25-30 min. The highlights of the discussion are as follows: 1. There was an initiator who was also dominator in the group. 2.The group discussion was in English as well as Hindi both language. 3.There were few silent observers who didn?t involve in the discussion. 4. Students could highlight many important facts and figures pertaining to the topic. The students followed all the guidelines and conducted the group discussion in a proper and in very decent way. Every student used the opportunity to speak and express themselves. Also each of them were very participated and active throughout the group discussion. DR. Nidhi Srivastava suggested students to use quotes, facts, figures, definitions, statistics, shocking statements, short story or general in the discussion. She gave hints on how to enter a GD midway and ideas to silent members on how to enter a GD She also gave importance on the non- verbal communication i.e. body language by which attitudes and feeling are communicated. Lastly she tried to draw attention of the students to summarize and conclude the GD highlighting all the importance points discussed by the group. Concluding the session DR. Nidhi Srivastava advised the students to read newspapers and enlist three local, national and global news each which shall help them to be aware of the current news in the world.
