Seminar on “GST – Freedom from Tax Terrorism”

Management department of IMS - UC organized a seminar on “GST - Freedom from Tax Terrorism”. The seminar was unique in its own kind as the entire event was chaired by the students of BBA 2nd year and final year who had been screened and selected for the purpose. The Seminar enlightened the participants on the events of the past and the expected events in the future. In this endeavour, Dr. Sapna Rakesh Director, IMS-UC inaugurated the seminar and congratulated students for conceiving such an innovative concept.

The event provided a platform to the students in understanding the concept of the new tax reform &creating awareness among the fellow students about GST. The format of the seminar included three technical sessions pertaining to the themes “GST & Start-ups”, “GST- The Great equaliser”, and “GST - Freedom from tax Terrorism” respectively. The student speakers in their respective sessions deliberated on the overview of the Proposed New Legislation, Making GST Happen, Framework of GST, Compulsions and Nuances involved in formulating the law, Ways to integrate into the new regime and so on.It was also discussed how this comprehensive tax levy on manufacture, sale and consumption of goods and services at national level is expected to improve tax collections in a seamless manner.

The participating students were judged and duly felicitated. Kudos to the Student Coordinators and bright young managers for their impeccable and untiring efforts for the success of the event!
