A group discussion?refers to a communicative situation that allows its participants to share their views and opinions with other participants. It is a systematic exchange of information, views and opinions about a topic, problem, issue or situation among the members of a?group. The purpose of the group discussion is not to win an argument , the purpose of a discussion is to help each group member explore and discover personal meanings of a text through interaction with other people. Keeping the same in mind IMS Ghaziabad (University Courses Campus) on the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti organized a group discussion on the topic ?Dalit History Month?. Dalit History Month?is an annual observance as a way of remembering important people and events in the history of the?Dalits?or?Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.?It is celebrated in the month of April all over the world by followers of?B.R Ambedkar The students followed all the guidelines and conducted the group discussion in a proper and in very decent way. Every student used the opportunity to speak and express themselves. Also each of them were very participated and active throughout the group discussion. This group discussion provided various insights about the topic and widen the horizon of their thinking capacity of the students. The event ends with the closing address Dr. Pooja Rastogi wherein she said these types of events are beneficial for the holistic development of the students. Moc Devansh Gill ended the event by gratitude note wherein he thanked everyone for working day and night to make this event a great success.
