INDUSTRIAL VISIT AT SHRIRAM PISTON, GHAZIABAD
IMS Ghaziabad, University Course Campus organized an industrial visit to Shriram Piston and Rings, Ghaziabad on 15th September 2014 for BBA Final year students under the patronage of Dr. B. P Pethiya, Director IMSUC, Ghaziabad. The students were welcomed by the HR team of Shriram Piston, and the visit started with presentation by production manager which showcased the various production lines where students could see the robotic pouring and boring of pistons from automated plants and machinery.
Shriram Pistons & Rings (SPR) has an exceptional lineage of the Shriram Group, one of India's oldest and most reputed industrial houses. SPR is recognized by almost all OEMs in India, and several OEMs in Europe and Asia as a dependable partner for supply of Euro 3, 4 & Euro 5 Pistons, Pins, Piston Rings and Engine valves for two wheelers, four wheelers, commercial vehicles, industrial engines etc.
The company is largest manufacturer and exporter in more than 25 countries of Pistons and Rings from India and the largest supplier of Engine Valves to OEMs in India. Students also got the knowledge of export procedure through their export department, by senior manager export.
Major clients of SPR includes Ashok Leyland, Bajaj, Ford, Greaves, Hero MotoCorp, Honda, Lombardini, Mahindra, Maruti, Nissan, Renault, Suzuki, Swaraj Mazda, Tata, TVS, Yamaha to name a few.
Ms. Shivani Dixit, Faculty International Business and Mr. Sachin Sinha, Faculty Finance coordinated the visit. It was a great learning experience. The students learnt about control techniques, automation, production line, export procedure, quality and inspection, documentation to understand the practical implications of theoretical concepts done in the class. This visit was awesome; students enjoyed the lot and it will help them in their future endeavors.
