Industry visit is one of the important parts of course curriculum for professional courses like Management. It helps students in gaining first hand information related to working culture of any company. It provides not only an insight into the real working environment of industry but also an opportunity to plan, organize and engage in learning process both inside and outside the classroom. With this perspective, BBA department of IMS Ghaziabad (university courses campus) organized an industrial visit to "Maruti Suzuki India ltd" at Gurugram, Haryana, a joint venture company of Maruti Udyog Ltd. and Suzuki (a Japanese company) to understand the production process of the Indian automobile industry. This visit provided students firsthand knowledge on various processes through which a raw material goes before turning into a glamorous car like welding, assembling, material handling, inventory management, robotic functions, painting and rigorous inspections through which every car undergoes. Students also got to know about the practical use of various Japanese terms like KAIZEN, JIT, ROBUST PROCESS, SANCHAIKA and PIKA PIKA and many more. They helped students gauge how the journey has been started from launching first car named Maruti 800 to Vitara Breeza, "a 100% Indian car with no contribution of the Japanese company. Students also got the opportunity to know about different accolades earned by Maruti during the last 17 years as well as its social initiatives campaign for making awareness among people regarding "national road safety mission", It was a wonderful experience for all BBA students to understand not only the culture of Maruti but also imbibed with the unforgettable moment spent inside the manufacturing unit.
