IMS School of biosciences conducted its 14th GENESIS Festival on 21st February, 2022. GENESIS 2022 was a virtual celebration of science and was open to all. The festival aimed to celebrate and explore science in every way possible by bringing together a diverse array of students to engage and inspire a wide-ranging audience.

The fest was inaugurated by our respected Director Sir Prof Dr.  Ajay Kumar who lauded the collaborative effort of teachers, mentors and students.

Dr. MeenakshiMunshi Former Scientist G of Department of Biotechnology addressed the young minds on how to welcome success by maintaining certain protocols in life. The event concluded with vote of thanks by Dr. Surabhi Johari followed by opening ceremony by Dr. Umesh Kumar.

There was variety of competitions and contests for young students and science enthusiasts alike, such as Sciquest (for School XI and XII, Undergraduates), Instathink (science thinkers) with scientoon and Vblogs. The students from different zones of the country participated enthusiastically.

Sci Quest is a part of bigger canvass of genesis 2022 and therefore was the kickoff show to start genesis 2022.Aashna Bansal from University of Delhi bagged the first position, DebaduttaChaterjee from JIS Institute of Advanced Studies and Research (JISIASR), Kolkata qualified as the first runner up and S. Tamil Selvan from Karunya University was the 2nd runner up of the quiz from the college and institute level.The winners of the Sci Quiz from schools were AahanaTyagi from SBVM Hapur,Sanjivni Singh from Arya International School, Varanasi and Navya Garg from DPS Hapur.

Trisha Bagga from Lotus valley International School noida, Riya Verma from Kala Nitekan and Akshat Mishra from  Imperial public school Varanasi bagged prizes first, second and third prizes in instathink under school category whereas, Niyati from SCER ,BhupenderSahu  and Vaishali Sharma  from  SBS IMSUC scored the respective positions under college category.

The best performers for Vblogs were AumAgravat from Christ College Rajkot and SonamParashar from DAV Cenetary school Ghaziabad.

Chetan Prakash was the winner from PGIMER, Chandigarh whereas KashishTomarand  AbhishekSaxena from IMSUC were first and  second runner up of the  Scientoon contest from  the college. Trisha Bagga from lotus valley international school noida and SonamParashar from DAV CenetarySchool Ghaziabad bagged first and second positions.

The event ended with the vote of thanks by Dr. Surabhi Johari Program Chairperson congratulated all the participants for being the part of this fest. Dr. Rishi Kumar and Prof. Kapil Sharma convener of GENESIS thanked the management for making this event a successful one.
