REPORT ON: Guest Lecture by CDC

Summary of the Event:

The Career Development Centre at IMS Ghaziabad, University Courses Campus organized a webinar on ‘Is Video Resume the Future Resume?’ on 18 June 2021. This webinar was exclusively planned for the registered students of MIB, BBA, BCA, BJMC, and Biosciences, who are keep to enter the corporate landscape. As in pandemic, digital transformation has replaced the traditional work practices, this webinar on video resume helped the students to understand its significance and its utilization for grabbing the upcoming opportunities and enhancement of the professional image.Mr. Romel, Founder of virtualCV.in was invited to address the students to discuss the benefits and ways of making video resumes for availing internship and job opportunities with renowned organizations in India and abroad. He emphasized that, just like a written resume, a good video resume also requires time, preparation, and effort. He also showed the work done by aspiring students, who got shortlisted in their dream companies because of their impressive video resumes. Students got to know the script and technical details required while making a stellar video resume.

 Learning Outcome

The participants were sensitized about the relevance of adapting to constant changes in this new normal. Ms. Priyanka Sadhna, Chairperson, Career Development Centre (CDC), in the webinar emphasized how the employment scenario is changing worldwide due to virtual platforms and how we can must respond to the changes at the earliest for effective outcomes. Anushka, member of the Career Pathway Club conducted the webinar and was able to assist all the participants online successfully. Students namely Rajat, Akash Verma, Aanchal, Shivam, Riya Sawhney, Anushka Aggarwal, and Khushi asked various questions to spruce up the digital resume.  The CDC faculty team of Ms. Himanshi Verma, Ms. Anuradha Bhardwaj and Ms. Sapna Kumar coordinated the entire session. Dr. Sapna Rakesh, Director, IMS Ghaziabad, University Courses Campus appreciated the active participation of the students and encouraged all the avid learners to upskill themselves to manage through COVID-19 and beyond.
