MS Excel session for 1st year MIB students was conducted by Prof. Subhro Sen Gupta on 22nd August 2020. During the session following points were discussed;
Importance of MS excel in today’s time and its dependency of learning if we want to excel on other software’s. We were explained about the basic functions used on the MS excel & shortcuts to save our time and work efficiently. Conditional formatting and basic formulas to drive results or to organize data was the prime goal for this session. He discussed various functions of excel such as freeze, power, concatenate, trim & many more. Overall the session was interactive and informative. 39 Students participated in the workshop.
Major takeaways from the session
1) Clarity on the concept of using excel & its functions.
2) Making tedious tasks easy with the ease if using functions available on Excel.
3) Keep trying and experiment with data as much as possible.
